Cody Rhodes has his back against the wall going up against Brock Lesnar at this weekend’s Night of Champions premium live event.
On last night’s WWE Raw, Cody was jumped by Brock backstage to kick off the show, but that isn’t where his night ended.
Rhodes came to the ring later in the show to confront Lesnar, where he ended up getting his arm ‘broken’ by the Beast’s Kimura Lock.
The show ended with a backstage face to face between Rhodes and Triple H, where Cody insisted that he would be going to Night of Champions to face Lesnar, against the advice of Triple H.
With WWE shooting the injury angle, some had wondered if the status of Rhodes for the event had changed.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), the match between Rhodes and Lesnar is still scheduled for the event despite the angle on last night’s show.
Furthermore, Rhodes is set to take part in additional promotional appearances in Saudi Arabia over the week.
The card for WWE Night of Champions 2023 on Saturday, May 27 is as follows:
World Heavyweight Championship – Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins vs. AJ Styles
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya
