An update has been provided on the WWE status of Davey Boy Smith Jr (Harry Smith) following his in-ring return to the company in July.
Before the July 16 episode of SmackDown, Smith teamed with Austin Theory to wrestle a dark match. This was Smith’s first WWE match since 2011.
Smith hasn’t wrestled a match for WWE since, dark or televised. As per PWInsider, Smith has not yet been assigned to Raw, SmackDown or NXT.
The Canadian star reportedly signed with WWE months ago, but the company purposefully kept his deal quiet until the timing was right for him to “officially” return.
A separate report had noted that Smith was originally going to debut on NXT UK and feud with WALTER, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused plans to change.
A top NXT UK star has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, ahead of a potential return to the US brand.
