An update has emerged on Drew McIntyre’s health after he was pulled from recent WWE house shows.
McIntyre most recently appeared for WWE on the September 23 edition of SmackDown, brawling with Karrion Kross.
After the former WWE Champion was pulled from the next night’s live event, it was reported that McIntyre had been ill with bad food poisoning since before SmackDown. WWE ultimately pulled McIntyre from the road, replacing him with Braun Strowman at house shows.
PWInsider now reports that McIntyre is factored into creative plans for Friday’s (September 30) edition of SmackDown. McIntyre is reportedly expected to return to the road for house shows this coming weekend.
On the September 23 show, Scarlett appeared to attempt to launch a fireball at Drew McIntyre, however the effect didn’t really work, so Kross and McIntyre improvised a new end to the brawl segment. The original plan for the segment has now been revealed.
The two stars will face off in a strap match at Extreme Rules on October 8. This will be Cross’ first premium live event match since returning to WWE in August.
