Update On AEW UK TV Deal

Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT has spoken with AEW Executive Vice Presidents the Young Bucks regarding the future of the promotion in the UK.

The response was not a decisive one. They said that they are still in negotiations for a weekly TV deal but can’t say more than that. When McCarthy asked if a deal would be in place by the time weekly show Dynamite starts, Nick responded:

“I don’t want to say yes and then it’s not.”

I pressed the Young Bucks on AEW's TV deal in the UK.

They said they are still in negotiations and can't say. Matt said: "I wish I could shout what I know from the rooftops."

I asked if it will be sorted by the first episode. Nick: "I don't want to say yes and then it's not."

They did however reiterate the UK market is very valuable to them and they are very keen on getting it sorted.

It was also revealed that they plan for AEW to hold multiple shows in the UK each year, and were originally going to hold one called “Royal Flush” but Tony Khan shot the idea down:

The Young Bucks did say that AEW will do "multiples shows a year" in the UK.@MattJackson13: "We had an idea to do a big PPV in the UK and I wanted to call it 'Royal Flush'. @TonyKhan was like 'Yeah, I think there that sounds more like a trip to the loo,' so he shot me down!"

AEW Dynamite starts on TNT in the US on Wednesday October 2, with the following announced so far:

• Nyla Rose vs. Riho to crown the first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion
