Update On Braun Strowman In-Ring Return Date

Braun Strowman has lost his shot at Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title, we learnt on Monday nights episode of RAW. But, when can we expect to see the monster among men back in the ring?

Discussing the status of injured wrestlers is something that us wrestling fans love to do! It makes us feel smart to the backstage, real world, stories – the things we hear very little about directly from companies like the WWE. unfortunately, such discussions do involve a lot of research, speculation, and often guesswork. With the status of Braun Strowman, it’s the same. We don’t know enough.

WWE have taken an interesting route with Strowman’s recovery. Keeping him on TV, and in storylines, keeps us believing he will be back in action soon. But again, we just don’t know when he will return.

The match Strowman was supposedly set to take part in, scheduled for The Royal Rumble on January 27th, would have seen the monster among men make his first significant in ring appearence since he underwent a series of operations at the end of 2018. Despite his ongoing recovery from his recent surgery, Braun has remained a partially active member of the roster – making appearances on TV and in December’s Pay-per-view TLC.

An angle, on Monday night, saw Braun attack a limo that he believed Baron Corbin to be in, instead it turned out to be Vince McMahon’s limo. McMahon then proceeded to punish Strowman with a fine and his removal from the match at the Rumble.

While speculation remains strong that Strowman is yet to be cleared, still suffering with his injury, many believe that there is more to the apparent change in plan. Industry critic, Dave Meltzer began the speculation on the Wrestling Observer Radio, claiming that the Strowman return, and match with Lesnar, was used tactically by WWE in an attmept to move more tickets for the show.

If, as Meltzer suggests, the plan was always to have Balor be Lesnar at the event on January 27th, then it could potentially leave Strowman open to take part elsewhere in the night. That’s if he is cleared in time.

A surprise rumble entry, to further his story with Corbin, is a strong possibility. Although a royal rumble victory and set up for a WrestleMania title match is also a genuine route they could take, if they want to put the title on Braun at the show it shows this year.

When do you think we will see a Braun return? Let us know in the comments below.
