There is a new update on CM Punk’s status for this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite after his backstage fight.
At the AEW All Out media scrum, new AEW World Champion CM Punk went on a scathing rant to address his history with Colt Cabana, thoughts on the company’s EVPs and Hangman Page.
After his comments, Punk was approached by Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks in his locker room with a “melee” ensuing also involving Ace Steel.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that those involved in the backstage fight will not be on the September 7 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Meltzer tweeted the following:
The belief is that nobody involved in the fracas will be at TV tomorrow and that other top stars not booked originally for Wednesday will be there. A lot of talk of it as suspensions but that isn’t official.
As previously noted, some within All Elite Wrestling believe that CM Punk could be fired following this incident.
