After leaving WWE in 2014, CM Punk decided to transition into the world of MMA.
However, Punk’s run in UFC hasn’t been very successful, with the former WWE Champion losing both of his UFC fights.
Last night on WWE Backstage, CM Punk made his long-awaited return to WWE TV. He will be appearing occasionally on the FS1 show.
Despite appearing on WWE Backstage, Punk is signed to FOX instead of WWE. There are no plans for CM Punk to wrestle for WWE anytime soon.
With Punk signed to FOX instead of WWE, there is a possibility that he could return to UFC in the future.
Fightful Select is reporting that Punk is still in the USADA testing pool and is open to a UFC return:
“CM Punk remains in the USADA testing pool, and has been drug tested as recently as this quarter.”
The reception to Punk’s return has been mixed, with some calling him a sell-out for returning to Vince McMahon’s company.
