Here’s the latest update regarding Cody filing to trademark for “The American Dream”, the nickname of his late father Dusty Rhodes.
As per Heel By Nature, Cody’s attempt to file the trademark has been denied once again by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
This is the third time it has been rejected, with the first attempt being back in March of 2019.
The reason for the latest rejection on September 14 is an inaccuracy with the documentation that was filed alongside the term.
Specifically, the phrasing “live performances by a professional wrestler” was used. This has been deemed inaccurate due to Dusty Rhodes being deceased.
Cody has until January 2021 to provide correct documentation and continue with the filing. He had previously successfully trademarked “Dusty Rhodes”, despite there being some confusion with that due to similarities between it and “Dustin Rhodes”.
