At UFC 257 last weekend, Conor McGregor was somewhat surprisingly knocked out in the second round by Dustin Poirier, leading some to speculate that he was actually going to be finishing up with UFC.
McGregor has long teased a run with WWE, as has Stephanie McMahon, so wrestling fans began questioning whether or not the Irishman was going to be making the transition over to wrestling before too long.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Conor McGregor is still under contract with UFC and has four fights remaining on his current deal, meaning it’s unlikely he’ll be working with WWE anytime soon.
Of course, it’s possible that Conor McGregor could work for both WWE and UFC, as we have seen with former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, but he certainly won’t be working a full-time deal with Vince McMahon’s company anytime soon.
This comes after former WWE Champion Sheamus recently spoke about the prospect of his fellow Irishman working for WWE, which you can read more about by clicking here.
