Last night on Raw, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows became the latest in an increasingly long line of secret moves that have occurred in the weeks following the Superstar Shakeup. The duo made their return to the red brand after one year away in a competitive defeat to The Usos.
According to PWInsider, the decision to switch the duo from SmackDown to Raw was made two weeks ago during the initial Superstar Shakeup but for whatever reason the promotion decided not to publicise the move.
The switch and TV appearance led to many questioning whether Gallows and Anderson’s contract status had changed. The duo had previously indicated to WWE officials that they would be departing the promotion as soon as their deals expire later in the year and a directive was put in place not to book the tandem on house shows or television as a result.
According to the report, nothing has changed with the team’s contracts and both are still expected to depart WWE in the coming months. So determined are they to leave that they have rejected multi-million dollar deals to re-sign with WWE, which indicates that they must be deeply unhappy in the company.
Why management decided to use them on television again is anyone’s guess. One can only assume that WWE want to beat them as many times as they can on the way out rather than have them sit at home and collect a pay check.
