Update On Injured WWE Star’s In-Ring Return WWE

A new report has provided an update on an injured WWE star’s in-ring return.

WWE fans have been wondering where Johnny Gargano has been over the past few weeks after the former NXT Champion went out with a recurring shoulder injury.

Besides an appearance in a battle royal in May, Gargano hasn’t wrestled in a singles match since facing Grayson Waller at NXT Stand & Deliver back in April during WrestleMania 39 weekend.

On Monday, a report circulated indicating that Johnny Gargano was still injured and wouldn’t be competing at this year’s SummerSlam.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that Gargano is in fact no longer injured and was factored into recent creative plans in WWE.

Despite this, there is no confirmation on Johnny Gargano’s status for WWE SummerSlam nor the originally planned DIY angle.

On the June 19 edition of WWE Raw, Tommaso Ciampa made his return to defeat The Miz. There have been numerous reports about Ciampa reuniting with Gargano to reform DIY.

Ciampa is currently still wrapped up in a feud with The Miz, while Gargano is still absent from WWE programming.

The report notes that Gargano was backstage at the recent WWE Raw in his hometown of Cleveland, and was originally scheduled for the show before creative plans were adjusted.

WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Johnny Gargano’s WWE status when they become available.
