After many reports throughout early 2020, Kairi Sane finally left WWE on July 29. While many saw her departure coming, no one really knew what was next for her. Now, Sane has provided an update.
She put on Twitter, first in Japanese and then in English, that she was back in Japan and will train and support WWE from afar. Well, that is quite the tidbit of information.
Greeting from Japan!!
WWE Superstar Kairi Sane here.
I have moved back to Japan and will still train and support WWE from here.💪🏻 https://t.co/hpUd6I21Vh

This update has led some to speculate that Sane may not be returning to Stardom as some expected. Sane recently got back from her honeymoon and if this tweet is to be believed, will be training to be prepared for a return to the ring.
WWE currently has very little business in Japan outside of their live events. Rumours of an NXT branch in Japan have existed for a long time. As an ambassador to WWE in Japan, Sane could be instrumental in the launch of a potential brand there should WWE go in that direction.
Sane’s WWE career began with her appearance in the 2017 Mae Young Classic. She won the tournament, last defeating Shayna Baszler before going on to have her run in NXT. There she was an NXT Women’s Champion before moving to the main roster where she formed the Kabuki Warriors tag team with Asuka.
