This week on Monday Night Raw, Lana revealed in a promo that she was filing for divorce with Rusev. She also revealed that she had got a restraining order against her real-life husband.
However, fans noticed during the promo that instead of saying Rusev couldn’t go within 90 feet of her, Lana said that the former United States Champion would have to stay “90 miles” away.
Many fans understandably thought this was a botch. However, Lana was reportedly supposed to say the “90 miles” line.
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, while the segment was botched slightly, it was not the “90 miles” line:
“You wanna know the script on this? Because I actually know. She was supposed to say 90 miles, she was not supposed to say 90 days and it was supposed to end up 90 feet. She was supposed to say 90 miles, Lashley was supposed to correct her and she was supposed to say 90 feet.”
“Somehow she said 90 days which she wasn’t supposed to say. So, she did, in fact, screw up — I thought the 90 miles had to be a screw-up, but in fact, that actually was part of the script.”
While the promo was obviously botched slightly, Lana and Bobby Lashley were able to style this out pretty well.
Speaking of botches, it is clear that this whole Rusev, Lana and Bobby Lashley storyline has been a complete failure. However, the feud doesn’t seem to be ending, as Rusev and Lashley are reportedly set for a match at TLC next month.
