Update On Positive WWE COVID-19 Test

Last month, it emerged that someone within WWE had received a positive test for Coronavirus. This news emerged just a few days after it was reported that WWE would continue to broadcast live TV, which obviously made a lot of people question whether the company had its performer’s best interests and health at heart.

Details about the positive test and situation, as well as the identity of the person were not disclosed, but we now have some more information about the issue thanks to Bryan Alvarez.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez confirmed that only one WWE employee or wrestler tested positive for COVID-19, and provided some new information on the situation that was previously not known:

“There was one WWE performer who contracted coronavirus. The impression I was given is that it had nothing to do with WWE whether WWE was taping or whatever. It was something that happened outside of WWE. This person has somewhere away from WWE when they got it. They never showed up to WWE television when they found out they got it. That’s like the one that we know of so this taping and going live, I’m not a fan of it, but I’m fair. Nothing has happened.”

As noted by Alvarez, the person who tested positive for the disease never showed up to WWE TV once they found out they had Coronavirus, meaning they did not pass on the virus to another member of the roster.
