There is a big update on a top WWE star undergoing serious surgery recently.
As previously reported, Randy Orton has been out of action since May after suffering a “significant” back injury and is expected to miss the rest of 2022.
Also, Orton’s wife recently posted a picture of the former 14-time WWE world champion around a recent operation.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided an update on Randy Orton, noting that he required a fusion in his lower back that would keep him out of action for an extended period of time.
The report notes that when the surgery happened is still unknown. There were some within WWE that believe they’d be fortunate to have Orton back after such a long career and the significance of the injury.
Some in the company also say that when he was initially injured, Orton insisted he would eventually return.
As of now, Randy Orton is contracted through 2024 and there is no word whether WWE will invoke to freeze his contract due to injury.
We will have further update on Randy Orton’s injury and recovery when they become available.
