Update On SummerSlam Plans For Riddle & Seth Rollins? WWE

Could we be headed to a fascinating showdown between two big WWE stars at WWE SummerSlam?

According to a thought from Dave Meltzer, the interactions we saw on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw (June 20) could actually be the kick-off to a SummerSlam program between two major stars.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:

“I didn’t think he was going to win, but, I didn’t think that it was going to be, tree slam and then another tree slam, and then Rollins would lay him out and obviously the idea is, with Cody out, that Rollins who is, you know, top heel on the brand, probably is going to be doing a program with Riddle, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”

“The curb stomp thing by Seth, that didn’t bother me. Everything with Omos was just ridiculous. I just can’t even fathom it. Makes no sense at all, but Rollins is in Money in the Bank, so he’s not going to be wrestling Riddle on this pay-per-view anyway, so I guess it’s to start a feud for SummerSlam.”

Riddle lost his Money in the Bank qualifying match on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw to Omos.

Currently, the Money in the Bank competitors announced for the titular ladder match at the upcoming premium live event are Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, and either Shotzi or Aliyah, plus one more woman to be determined for the Women’s match.

For the Men’s ladder match, announced thus far are Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Omos, and the winner of an upcoming match between Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura, plus three others as yet to be determined.
