Update On The Miz Following ACL Injury

While you’d be forgiven for thinking the zombies at ringside were the worst thing about The Miz vs Damian Priest at WrestleMania Backlash, the actual worst thing was that The Miz suffered a torn ACL during the match.

While it wasn’t clear how bad the tear was, serious ACL tears can keep wrestlers out of the ring for around nine months. Thankfully it appears as though The Miz’s injury isn’t too serious, as he’s already back on Raw and mocking reports which suggested a nine-month recovery period.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that the injury is likely not as serious as feared, as The Miz hasn’t undergone any kind of major surgery on his knee. He said:

“He didn’t have major surgery, so it looks like it was a partial tear and not a full. So that’s a lot better, that’s not gonna be like nine months off or seven months off. It’s probably gonna be a lot quicker. If he had surgery at this point in time, he would have crutches right now.”

The Miz was on last night’s episode of Raw alongside John Morrison who was wearing a garlic necklace because…oh does it actually matter?

Anyway, it looks like he’ll remain an on screen character while he recovers, but it’ll be a while before he’s back taking bumps.

We’ll keep you updated with any further news regarding The Miz.
