It has been speculated as of late that Impact Wrestling star Taya Valkyrie may be leaving the company. Now, there is an update on her status with the promotion.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is currently reporting that Valkyrie was not present at Impact’s television tapings this week. The promotion held tapings on Sunday and Monday and she was not at either of them.
The report makes sure to state that Fightful does not know of her current contract situation. However, they do note than she had mentioned that she signed a two-year deal with the promotion in 2019. That would make her a free agent in 2021 if she has not signed an extension.
Taya Valkyrie is the longest reigning Knockouts Champion in Impact history. She held the title for over a year, losing it in January 2020. She recently competed for the title once again, losing to champion Deonna Purrazzo at Hard to Kill.
We will provide any updates regarding her status with Impact Wrestling as they become available.
