AEW TNT Champion Cody has provided an update on when the final belt design is scheduled to be finished as it’s been delayed due to COVID-19.
A lot of fans were a bit disappointed when they saw the belt for the first time at Double or Nothing in May, but were then more forgiving when the promotion made it known that the current design isn’t final.
Cody has given update on when it’s said to be finished on Twitter, writing:
August 12th (saw a nice video of the plates, very elegant)
Cody won the title at the aforementioned Double or Nothing pay-per-view in a tournament final against Lance Archer. He defeated Shawn Spears then Darby Allin to reach the final.
Since winning it, he’s defended it regularly on AEW Dynamite, picking up retentions over Jungle Boy, Marq Quen, Ricky Starks, Jake Hager, Sonny Kiss and Eddie Kingston. On tomorrow’s episode he defends against ultra popular indie star Warhorse.
