Last month’s WWE Draft was the first shake-up of the rosters since Paul Heyman was appointed as Raw’s Executive Director.
As a result, Heyman reportedly spent a lot of time before the draft campaigning backstage to WWE higher-ups to ensure he got certain superstars on the red brand.
It was reported prior to the WWE Draft that Paul Heyman was “very high” on former Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the Australian was drafted to Raw.
Since the draft, Murphy has defeated R-Truth and Cedric Alexander twice on Monday Night Raw.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that along with Buddy Murphy, Paul Heyman is very high on Ricochet and Humberto Carrillo and will be pushing the trio as his main guys on Raw:
“Cedric’s problem is that you can only push so many guys at once and he was the guy until he wasn’t the guy and now he’s really not the guy. Now it’s like Buddy Murphy who wasn’t even on the show, Ricochet, and Humberto Carrillo are the guys on the ascent unless they get screwed up like Cedric did when someone decided he shouldn’t be on the ascent and then blame me weeks later.”
Humberto Carrillo is reportedly set to continue his feud with AJ Styles over the United States Championship after pinning the champion in a six-man tag match on Raw last night.
