
Earlier on this week, it was announced that WWE has sold the exclusive streaming rights for the WWE Network in the US to NBCU’s Peacock platform.
The changes will only impact those in the US right now, but it’s likely that WWE is going to look at selling the streaming rights to the Network in other countries soon.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the possibility of a similar deal being struck in other countries:
“Well in Canada, in the Middle East, India, there’s a lot of places that they already did this before the United States. So it’s a question of if they get the deal they want, of course. If it’s a better deal, if it’s a deal that can make them more money, of course. It doesn’t matter the country. If you can get a better deal in (example) Italy, you do it. If you can’t then you don’t. So it’s just a matter of the deal coming.”
