An update on the WWE stars that reportedly requested their release recently.
Fightful reported a week ago that Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid of Schism had requested to be released, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer later reported the release had been granted.
However, Meltzer soon said that it was actually “up in the air”, and might not have been official, despite Fowler and Reid believing it was.
They ended up being at least week’s NXT tapings after the reports, and they were again tonight.
Not only did they appear on WWE television, they seemingly kicked off a program with a pair of champions.
The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid) of Schism were featured in a backstage segment alongside their other two roots, Joe Gacy and Ava.
Interestingly they stepped up to the NXT Tag Team Champions Gallus who is back at three man strength after the reunion of the Coffey brothers and Wolfgang.
Since the Gallus boys are always up for a fight, it seems that we’ll be getting a future match between these two hard hitting teams.
However later in the show, the Creed Brothers also challenged Gallus to a tag team title match on next week’s NXT so we’ll have to stay tuned to find out who will get the next title shot.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE NXT, two tag teams seem to be headed for break-ups and find out who is in a fatal four way to determine the number one contender to Carmelo Hayes’ NXT Championship.
