An update has emerged on former NXT star EJ Nduka, following interest expressed by both WWE and AEW.
Earlier this year it was reported that several companies, including WWE, were interested in signing Nduka. It was later confirmed that Nduka was a free agent, with his MLW contract expiring on January 1.
Since then, Nduka has wrestled for AEW, facing off against Konosuke Takeshita at the January 28 Dark taping.
Following Nduka’s bout, the Wrestling Observer reported that the rising star was offered a deal by AEW.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has now corroborated this report, confirming that Nduka was offered an AEW deal. Fightful noted that as of writing, Nduka hasn’t accepted the deal, and has been evaluating his options.
Per the report, Nduka has been in contact with WWE, although it is currently unclear how far talks have gone between Nduka and WWE.
Some companies in Mexico and Japan have also got their eye on Nduka, with the prospect reportedly receiving a contract offer from a Mexican promotion.
Nduka signed with WWE in 2018 and only wrestled a handful of house show matches before he was let go by the company in early 2021.
We will continue to provide updates on EJ Nduka as they become available.
