Update On WWE’s ‘Hesitancy’ In Seth Rollins Winning World Heavyweight Championship WWE

An update has emerged on WWE’s ‘hesitancy’ surrounding Seth Rollins potentially winning the new World Heavyweight Championship.

The inaugural World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at Night of Champions, with Seth Rollins set to face off against AJ Styles in the final match of the title tournament.

With Rollins being a Raw star and Styles on SmackDown, it has been heavily predicted that Rollins will leave Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with the Red Brand’s world title.

There’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding plans for the championship, especially following a previous report which noted that there is some hesitancy within WWE about putting the title on Rollins, as the Visionary has recently been busy filming for the upcoming Marvel film Captain America: New World Order.

The “hesitancy” was reportedly due to the idea that Rollins could end up taking more acting roles in the future, which would mean him being around in WWE less than full-time.

The whole premise of the new World Heavyweight Championship is that the champion would be full-time unlike Roman Reigns, so if Rollins was to win it and then be taking time away for outside projects, it wouldn’t be ideal.

WRKD Wrestling has now shared an update, noting that it has been made clear that Rollins and Becky Lynch pursuing Hollywood careers aren’t immediate fears for WWE.

WRKD Wrestling tweeted:

Clarifying a prior report: we’d said that there was “hesitancy” to put the new title on Seth Rollins, due to his role in the new Captain America film.

However, its been made clear this isn’t an immediate fear, but for the future, should he & Becky Lynch further pursue Hollywood

It has been reported that Rollins is expected to miss Monday’s (May 22) Raw taping due to his filming responsibilities, just like he was absent from last week’s May 15 show too.

Tonight, there is set to be the continuation of the pre-recorded interview with Rollins that started last week.
