An update has emerged on WWE interest in The Elite, following the announcement that the members of the group have chosen to re-sign with AEW.
Sports Illustrated previously broke the news that Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks and Hangman Page have all agreed to renew their AEW contracts.
These stars have all chosen to remain with AEW on multi-year deals, despite speculation about possibly jumping to WWE.
Fightful Select has now provided some more insight in if a WWE move would’ve been possible for members of the Elite.
Per the report, WWE sources had indicated to Fightful that they would’ve had interest in ‘any and all’ members of the Elite.
It was also reported that while it appears that no serious talks took place, some within WWE felt like WWE stood a chance of potentially signing members of the group.
Fightful noted that some within WWE recalled positive experiences working with Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson in 2018.
Kenny Omega has now explained why he chose to stay with AEW, which you can read more about right here.
Tony Khan has also commented on The Elite all choosing to re-sign. You can read his comments at this link.
Khan has also responded to Triple H calling AEW a ‘secondary promotion’, click here to find out more.
