WWE NXT Tag Team Main Roster Call-Up Plans Update

There has been an update on the status of a WWE tag team’s once rumored call-up from NXT to the main roster.

In the fall of last year WWE fans saw the main roster debuts of the Meta Girls – Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.

Appearing on SmackDown in the build to WWE Crown Jewel in November, Legend and Jackson earned themselves a shot at Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, eventually competing in a four-way match that also featured Chelsea Green and Piper Niven and Damage CTRL (IYO SKY and Kairi Sane).

At the time Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that the belief within WWE was that Legend and Jackson had been called up to the main roster, along with Meta-Four members Noam Dar and Oro Mensah, however, after WWE Crown Jewel Legend and Jackson instead returned to NXT.

In a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp provided an update on the status of Legend and Jackson on WWE’s main roster.

According to Sapp, despite the rumors of a call-up back in the Fall, he was told that their appearances on the main roster were just for that storyline involving the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Those that Fightful spoke to in WWE at the time felt that Legend and Jackson needed more experience before a main roster call-up came their way.

Legend appeared as an entrant in the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble, while Jackson recently revealed that her goal for 2025 was to main event a show on Raw or SmackDown.
