The reaction of the USA Network to recent WWE changes under the new regime has been revealed.
The USA Network is the home of WWE Raw and NXT, with Raw airing on Monday nights, and NXT every Tuesday.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, USA Network is currently ‘thrilled’ with WWE’s work. Noting that this hasn’t always been the case, Meltzer wrote:
“The USA Network, which privately had been frustrated with Raw’s ratings in recent years, particularly the period when the annual drop was so high (many years in a row), are thrilled now. I think they read too much into the 10/10 number or maybe didn’t expect it, although those nostalgia shows always work and the Wyatt thing is very hot.”
The October 10 edition of Raw featured a reunion of D-Generation X, with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James and ‘X-Pac’ Sean Waltman appearing together. The event also featured the fallout from Extreme Rules, recapping the return of Bray Wyatt in the closing moments of the premium live event.
This edition of Raw drew a total viewership of 1.824 million viewers, the show’s highest rating since the September 5 post-Clash At The Castle show.
