Velveteen Dream Post-WWE Indie Appearance Cancelled

Velveteen Dream Post-WWE Indie Appearance Cancelled

the first wrestling appearance of Velveteen Dream following his WWE release was recently announced, then promptly cancelled.

In a now deleted tweet, it was announced that Velveteen Dream would be appearing for Superstars of Wrestling Federation (SWF) on September 11 at the promotion’s Home Sweet Home show.

The tweet read:

“SWF wrestling and The Trifecta are happy to announce FKA Velveteen Dream will be making his first wrestling appearance since his WWE departure live on September 11 at SWF Wrestling’s Home Sweet Home event at the Tom’s River YMCA”

Following the announcement, numerous fans voiced complaints regarding Velveteen Dream. Just over an hour after the original tweet, SWF announced that Dream’s appearance had been cancelled.

Noting that Dream had been pulled from the event, SWF Wrestling tweeted:

“‘Tonight we announced Velveteen Dream would be appearing at our Home Sweet Home event. I believe any man can be slandered and have been through other situations in my life unrelated but untrue. After careful consideration, Dream has been removed.’ – SWF Owner/Founder Rob Fury”

A number of serious allegations were made against Dream during the Speaking Out movement last year. Dream was not pushed or even used consistently on NXT following the allegations.

He was released by WWE in May. Following his departure, Dream addressed allegations made against him in a statement.
