*** WARNING – This piece contains spoilers for the latest set of NXT TV Tapings***
Despite being called up to WWE’s main roster last month, the Street Profits have yet to have a match on Raw.
Many people felt as if the pair would drop the NXT Tag Team Championships at the next Takeover event before moving on to becoming full-time Raw stars.
However, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins rather surprisingly retained their championships over the Undisputed Era at NXT Takeover: Toronto last week.
However, during the latest set of NXT TV Tapings, Ford and Dawkins lost their tag team championships in a Takeover rematch at Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish.
Despite dropping their championships, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the pair will continue appearing in backstage segments on Raw, while also wrestling in NXT:
“They are remaining as NXT wrestlers even though they will continue with non-wrestling segments on Raw.”
This certainly seems like a strange move on the part of WWE. You have to question why the Street Profits were brought up to Raw if they aren’t going to wrestle.
