Video Surfaces Of Seth Rollins Talking About Messiah Gimmick In 2015

A video has surfaced from SummerSlam 2015 showing Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch and Brie Bella talking about a potential Messiah gimmick, over four years before Seth debuted it on WWE TV.

In this video, you can see Brie Bella telling Seth Rollins that he looks like New Day’s “messiah”. For those that don’t know, this is because New Day and Seth Rollins both wore all-white gear for their matches on the show.

Later on in the clip, Seth says that he “kind of has the Jesus vibe going”. He then says he felt there could be a “pre-tape” coming, before saying that there “has to be something here”.

There certainly was something in this idea for Seth, as the former WWE and Universal Champion has been doing some tremendous work as the “Monday Night Messiah” in WWE over the last few months.

It is certainly interesting to watch a video from way back in 2015, which may have been the inspiration for the awesome Monday Night Messiah gimmick that Seth adopted last year, and has been using ever since.

Tonight at Payback, Seth Rollins is set to team with Murphy to take on Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik in tag team competition. This match took place on Raw, but was interrupted by RETRIBUTION.
