VIDEO: WWE Star’s Appearance Botched At UFC 290 UFC

The soon-to-be merged powerhouses of WWE and UFC saw a glimpse of crossover at the UFC 290 PPV event (July 9), as WWE star Rey Mysterio was in attendance to watch the event.

While Rey received a massive pop from the Nevada faithful, fans watching at home would be disappointed when they saw that the UFC misspelled the Hall of Famer’s name.

The moment (see below), was uploaded to Twitter by WWE on BT Sport who highlighted Rey’s appreciation from the UFC fans, yet Twitter user’s in the comments were in disbelief as ‘Rey’ was spelled ‘Ray’ in his name-bar at the bottom of the screen.

One user commented:

Guys in the truck had one job and chose Ray lmao

While another correctly asked:

Who the hell is Ray Mysterio

As WWE and UFC’s relationship grows following the impending completion of the Endeavor merger, this certainly wasn’t the best way to kick off things.
