Viewership Slightly Down For September 3 SmackDown

The overnight viewership figures for the September 3 edition of SmackDown on FOX, featuring Roman Reigns vs Finn Balor, have been revealed.

As per  SpoilerTV, Friday’s episode of SmackDown drew an average of 2.147 million viewers. This is down from the 2.250 million viewers who tuned in on August 27.

In the 18-49 demographic, the September 3 show received a 0.6 rating, which was top for the night. Last week’s show earned a rating of  0.59 rating in the same demo.

On the show, Finn Balor challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Reigns forced Balor to submit with a guillotine choke.

After the show went off the air, it was reported that Sasha Banks was backstage during the episode. Banks hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since before SummerSlam, where she was originally set to challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Instead, Becky Lynch wrestled for the title at SummerSlam, pinning Belair in under a minute. Lynch will defend her gold in a rematch against Belair at Extreme Rules.
