Of the many rules that need to be respected within the walls of WWE, one of the better known ones if that you shouldn’t tease a match that Vince McMahon doesn’t intend to put on.
For this reason, it’s being reported that Vince is very unhappy with both Randy Orton and Tommaso Ciampa, who have been feuding on Twitter over the past few days.
Randy appeared to shoot on NXT and its use of “leg slapping” when hitting moves, and Ciampa wasn’t best pleased with Orton’s opiniaon. This led to speculation of a match between the two, but reports suggest no match is being planned.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said:
“The impression I was give is that Vince McMahon isn’t very happy about this. For those of you who may not know there are rules and then there’s Vince. Vince hates it when guys or women or whatever do something that teases a match that he’s not gonna do, but if he starts booking something that doesn’t pay off it’s totally fine. There’s a different set of rules.”
There’s no doubt that a feud between Orton and Ciampa would be great, and honestly it’s probably a good idea to get fans excited about potential future feuds, but if it’s not one Vince had in mind, it’s better to be quiet and wait until it is.
