Find out if Vince McMahon is reportedly backstage at tonight’s April 14 WWE SmackDown after being absent last Friday.
According to a report from PWInsider Elite (via Wrestling Headlines) there is an answer as to whether or not Vince McMahon has made an appearance backstage at tonight’s taping of WWE SmackDown.
Per the report, Vince McMahon is not backstage at SmackDown with further clarification that while they were told that McMahon did go over the show and changes were made, there was some variability in reports from that point.
Noting that they “heard differing versions as to how deep” the changes were, we’ll have to stay tuned for more information from backstage.
While he was very notably on hand for the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 39 (still in Los Angeles after the weekend’s events) and reportedly seated in gorilla position throughout the night, there was word during subsequent shows that he was not present.
With the following SmackDown in Portland, Oregon on April 7th and Monday Night Raw in Seattle on April 10th both reportedly also being without Vince McMahon backstage.
It doesn’t however mean that he has no input in the show as he has been in creative meetings and reportedly made ‘minor changes’ to scripting.
While were many changes that had to be made to the latest episode of Raw, but they were because of some big travel issues with many of the wrestlers, rather than because of Vince.
Tonight’s SmackDown (April 14) kicked off with a big segment between The Bloodline (Jimmy and Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa) and their old foes Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, joined by their latest problem.
Also set for the Friday night show, Xavier Woods of New Day is taking on L.A. Knight after the two have recently been doing some backstage feuding.
There is also set to be the return of Shinsuke Nakamura and a championship celebration for the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
