Eric Young Told Vince McMahon To His Face: ‘You’re A Failure’

Eric Young Told Vince McMahon To His Face: ‘You’re A Failure’ WWE

Former WWE star Eric Young has recalled telling Vince McMahon that he was a failure during a meeting with the former CEO and Chairman.

Young led the popular SAnitY faction in NXT from 2016 to 2018, before the group was called up to the main roster. In April 2019, Eric Young was drafted to Raw, separating him from the faction. He was eventually released in April 2020.

Speaking with Jim Alexander of Reel Talker, Young noted that he called McMahon a failure to his face while voicing frustrations about his lack of TV time:

“l went to a meeting with Vince to pitch him some ideas and I told him to his face, if you have a three-hour wrestling show and you can’t find five minutes for me to do anything, you’ve failed. You’re a failure (to Vince). I’d say that again to his face, because that’s what it is.”

Noting that he has a lot of respect for Triple H, Young said:

“The producing, that was a favor to HHH. I wasn’t being used, I was being paid full-time so he said I think you’d be good at it, what do you think about trying it out? Well, I’m there anyway so I might as well.

“(If Triple H had control at the time) Things would have been way different for me. I would do anything for him (HHH). I’d run through a wall. Help him hide a dead body (laughs), whatever he asked me to do. I respect him that much.”

Triple H took over WWE creative following Vince McMahon’s departure last month. A number of released stars have been brought back to the promotion, including Karrion Kross and Dakota Kai.
