Vince McMahon Said ‘F**k Em’ In Response To Backlash About WrestleMania Match WWE

Former WWE writer Dave Schilling has recalled Vince McMahon’s reaction to backlash following the announcement of Kurt Angle’s retirement match.

Ahead of WrestleMania 35 in 2019, it was revealed that Angle would be wrestling his last match against Baron Corbin.

Many fans took to social media to criticise this match-up, with a number of dream opponents for Angle available to face the gold medalist instead.

During a watch-through of WrestleMania 35, former creative team member Dave Schilling revealed that Vince McMahon wasn’t too concerned about the fan reaction.

Noting that the former WWE CEO laughed during a meeting when he was told that fans didn’t want to see Angle vs Corbin, Schilling tweeted:

“Oh no it’s Kurt Angle Vs Baron Corbin. When it was mentioned in a production meeting that the fans hated the idea of this match, Vince laughed so hard and said “f**k em.”

McMahon isn’t currently in charge of creative, with Triple H taking over as the Chief Content Officer after McMahon announced his retirement in July 2022.

He returned to the company in January and now acts as the executive chairman of WWE.
