Vince McMahon Has Been “Very Upset” With Raw Recently

If you ask most WWE fans, the past few months of Monday Night Raw have been some of the most consistently good shows in recent history, with genuinely watchable storylines and good in-ring wrestling.

However, as we know, what we think doesn’t matter one bit, because if Vince McMahon doesn’t like it, then it’s going to be changed.

We saw this in action last night when it was announced that Executive Director of Raw Paul Heyman had been replaced by Bruce Prichard, who will now run both Raw and SmackDown’s creative teams.

Following the announcement, PWInsider reported that a source noted to them that Vince McMahon has recently been “very upset” and openly “frustrated” with Raw.

Vince spoke in the Q1 earnings report about Raw’s recent drop in TV ratings, saying that it would take time to turn things around, and that he trusted that their patience would be rewarded.

“So there’s no audience and it’s a different show, a completely different show. And I think we’re going to get there. While we may be able to take this negative and already turn it into somewhat of a positive, as far as ratings and what have you are concerned. SmackDown has virtually been no change, very little. RAW has suffered, but not necessarily because of the environment, it’s suffered because we bring in a lot of new talent and to RAW, and it takes a while to get these new talents over.

“We no longer have Brock Lesnar obviously, but we have a new champion and a lot of new performers coming in. So it takes a while. So that’s the reason, and how you use those performers in this story or that story or what have you. So, with new talent it’s just going to take a little while. I’m convinced though, that the RAW’s ratings are going to bounce back considerably.”

Well that patience lasted a few weeks, and now we’ll just have to see what the Bruce Prichard Monday Night Raw era has in store for us.
