Vince McMahon is reportedly a big fan of a particular NXT star who we saw on a couple of main roster shows earlier in the year.
Brendan Vink was used a handful of times on Raw at the start of the pandemic when less talent was available for shows. He had four matches in total, and even won one of them teaming with Shane Thorne against Cedric Alexander & Ricochet.
Thorne had been used on Main Event quite a bit since then, but it now looks like he’s back on NXT as he has a match against Bronson Reed on Wednesday. Vink, on the other hand, has been off TV completely since May 11.
According to WrestlingNews.co, Vince McMahon and people in management love Vink and believe he could be a future top star.
Vink is tall at 6’5 which McMahon is a fan of, and it’s said that he’s willing to go slow and not rush to push him. A source in WWE described Vink as the “perfect” wrestler – he’s well-spoken, looks great and would carry himself like a star in the mainstream. He was even compared to John Cena in that regard.
It has been reported this week that McMahon is aware that now is the time to make new stars, which doesn’t really correlate with what we’ve been seeing on TV, but at least it’s progress, and something we’ll hopefully see start happening.
