Vince McMahon ‘Loved’ WWE SmackDown Segment

It’s being reported that Vince McMahon “loved” one of the segments from this past Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX.

WrestlingNews.co reports that McMahon was a big fan of the Matt Riddle promo during which he explained why he wrestles barefoot. McMahon apparently loved the story when Riddle told him privately so let him do it on TV too.

It was also noted in the report that Riddle is actually allowed to give more of his own input into his promos than most other members of the WWE roster.

McMahon has been a fan of Riddle’s for some time it seems, as the report included the following quote from a source from back in November, saying that McMahon had compared Riddle to Shawn Michaels:

“Vince like guys like Shawn who have that rebel mentality and he sees some of Shawn in Matt. Matt can rub some people the wrong way but he’s a good guy and he will do great when Vince calls him up. I think he’s a future world champion. Vince will try to tweak him but his personality will get him far.”

All signs are pointing towards a Matt Riddle vs King Corbin match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules on July 19, a match one would presume Riddle will be victorious in if McMahon is as big a fan as it seems.
