Anyone who has watched episodes of Raw or SmackDown this month will know that it is pretty obvious that WWE is intent on pushing Lars Sullivan right to the top of the company, despite the controversy that has emerged surrounding some of his past.
However, Dave Meltzer has interestingly noted on the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Lars Sullivan is the only guy Vince McMahon and other WWE higher-ups want to elevate up the card right now:
“I mean there’s nobody, I mean nobody, but when you’re talking about one guy that they’re elevating: Lars Sullivan. That’s the guy.”
WWE is clearly not only keen to push Lars Sullivan, but also his nickname too. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful even noted on Twitter that on a recent episode of SmackDown, Michael Cole called Sullivan “The Freak” 22 times in a segment that lasted just shy of eight minutes.
Dave Meltzer speculated that this could be because WWE is preparing to permanently change Sullivan’s name to “The Freak” which would certainly be an interesting choice. You can read more about that by clicking here.
What do you think of the potential of a major Lars Sullivan push within WWE? Be sure to let us know in the comments and on Twitter.
