Vince McMahon Vs Pat McAfee WrestleMania 38 Plans Changed? WWE

Vince McMahon made his appearance on the Pat McAfee show yesterday (March 3), which was intended to begin an angle heading into WrestleMania 38.

However, the show went by without any kind of angle being planted, with Vince simply announcing that McAfee will wrestle at WrestleMania next month.

Austin Theory seemed to hint on this week’s Raw show that McMahon could have been attacked by McAfee, and that he would be around to help. Theory was not present, and nothing of the sort was even teased.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the original plan was to set up the match on the show, and that plans may have changed, as that did not happen.

He said:

Vince McMahon vs. Pat McAfee. They did not do an angle to set this up on the 3/3 Pat McAfee show, even though it was positioned on Raw for an angle. Vince is 76 years old and we’re told there will be mostly smoke and mirrors here, with Austin Theory there to take whatever bumps need to be taken. Instead he did a straight interview. On Raw, Theory talked about the idea McAfee might attack McMahon and he would be there to help, pushing that angle. Theory never appeared so it would seem something has changed.

While this does not mean that the match has been called off, it does mean that, if it ends up still happening, it won’t have been set up the way WWE initially intended for it to be.
