A new report has emerged regarding how Vince McMahon reacted to the ratings for last week’s SmackDown and AEW Rampage.
The two shows had a half-hour crossover in which Rampage beat SmackDown in the key 18-49 demographic.
As reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon didn’t get mad and didn’t act immature in response to the ratings, as he sometimes has a tendency to do.
It was noted that McMahon probably had an idea what the ratings were going to be like anyway based on the fast nationals that didn’t leak out over the weekend, so he wouldn’t necessarily have been surprised or caught off guard by the results.
However, it was said that “key personnel” in WWE were in “total denial” and continue to not be worried about AEW since they believe its audience has a ceiling.
The other reason McMahon may not have been concerned is because he simply still doesn’t realise how close AEW is getting, and unfortunately, none of his minions are willing to tell him.
