Vince McMahon Reveals WWE Will Do More Cinematic Matches

WWE has done a number of cinematic matches as of late and it doesn’t appear that they will stop anytime soon. Vince McMahon revealed on today’s investors call that WWE will be doing more “mini-movies” like the cinematic WrestleMania matches.

Ryan Satin reported this on Twitter.

“Vince McMahon today on the earnings call for investors said they’ll be doing more ‘mini movies’ like the cinematic matches at WrestleMania due to the current circumstances.”

WWE has done three of these matches recently. The first was the Boneyard match between AJ Styles and Undertaker on night one of WrestleMania. It was well-received by fans and critics and it served as the main event of the show.

The second match was the Firefly Funhouse match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. This one was much more like a film than a match as it was never really a fight and more of psychological warfare on Cena. This was on the second night of WrestleMania.

Finally, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa had an hour-long fight on NXT. This was the finale of their near four-year storyline. This was the time that some fans spoke up to say WWE needs to take a break from so many of these matches.

Who do you want to see in a cinematic match? And do you think Vince McMahon should continue doing these matches? Let us know on Twitter!
