Vince McMahon Thought Hall Of Famer Had ‘No Talent’

Mick Foley is regarded as one of the best WWE stars of all time. However, Vince McMahon thought he didn’t have any talent when he first saw Foley.

In the recent A&E documentary on Foley’s career, McMahon was quoted as saying he thought Foley was degrading to the WWE product. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:

“I thought it was kind of degrading to our product. I thought he didn’t have any talent, I thought it was déclassé.”

Vince McMahon also went on to talk about Foley’s connection with the WWE audience and thinking he would never sign Foley. Here is the quote:

“Mick always had that connection with the audience and I never really saw before he came here. I thought, ‘Boy, We’re never going to hire that guy,’ but he did. He had that connection and very few people have that.”

Mick Foley ultimately went on to become a three-time WWE Champion and would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
