Vince McMahon ‘Totally Changed Direction’ Midway Through WWE Tapings

It emerged yesterday that a “very aggressive” Vince McMahon has decided to broadcast episodes of Raw, SmackDown and even NXT live from the Performance Center over the coming weeks.

It was originally believed that WWE wold batch tape a few week’s worth of TV in the coming weeks and according to various reports, the decision to broadcast shows live from the PC has upset several members of the WWE roster.

WWE reportedly decided they were going to tape shows yesterday, but Vince McMahon was seemingly determined to broadcast upcoming shows alive.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon changed his mind in the middle of yesterday’s tapings:

“From what I understand Vince always had it in his head about going live, but whenever they went there they didn’t know that. In fact, they taped the show in the afternoon and then after the show was taped then Vince changed his mind. He said we’re going SmackDown live tonight — or as close to the contract as it can to be live and then that’s it and people went home and they’re gonna come back on Monday and do RAW live and they’re gonna come back on Wednesday, the ones who have to come back and they’re gonna do NXT and it’s gonna be like that every single week .

“People will ask is Florida in a shut down? It is and in fact, Orange County is in a shutdown, but it doesn’t matter.”

As alluded to earlier, several WWE stars are unhappy with the company over their decision to broadcast shows live. Meltzer also discussed this, saying that the families of those who are being asked to come to the Performance Center once a week in the middle of a Pandemic will likely be far from pleased:
“I’m sure that some people who flew down for the show today, yes so those people… I bet their families feel great, the ones who aren’t single.”
