When Wade Barrett made his return to WWE programming, it was reported his role was only to be a commentator. For a time, that is what he has done as a member of the NXT announce team. However, now it seems Barrett is ready to mix it up with an old friend.
WWE on BT Sport has posted a clip of Barrett essentially calling out WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Barrett says he used to bully the champ with McIntyre begging for mercy back in the day. He also said when he is ready Barrett will take whatever he wants from McIntyre.
"I used to bully him. Kick the hell out of him. Pour cans of beans over him. He'd be in the corner crying, begging for mercy" ?
"As a man, he knows I can destroy him anytime. He knows I can batter him" ?

Now that does not sound like a man who is content to remain behind the commentary desk. While Barrett and McIntyre do not have much history as far as WWE matches go, they do go back further than that.
As seen in the recent Drew McIntyre documentary on the WWE Network, the two and Sheamus were a tight-knit group working as wrestlers in Europe during the mid-2000s. The three all got signed around the same time and would all be called up to the WWE main roster between 2009-2010.
