NXT UK Champion WALTER has recently teased some interesting matches, revealing who The Ring General’s dream opponents are.
WALTER is one of the most dominant performers in WWE today. The Austrian athlete has recently pointed out some competitors he’d like to stand across the ring from one day.
Speaking on After The Bell, WALTER stated that he’d love the opportunity to face Daniel Bryan. Explaining why Cesaro is a good role model, WALTER also noted that he’d be open to battling the Swiss Superman. Finally, the Ring General threw Finn Balor’s name into the conversation.
Here is the full quote:
“When I first got into watching other wrestling, I was watching Ring of Honor. A lot of those guys are the top guys in WWE right now. Daniel Bryan is a match I would want to do. Obviously, Cesaro. (I never worked with Cesaro). He’s a great role model for all of us German-speaking talent. He’s always been super supportive. As soon as we stepped foot in WWE, he reached his hand out to all of us. He’s a fantastic wrestler. Regarding NXT, the one match I wanted before COVID was Finn Balor. Those are the three,”
It seemed like NXT were building towards WALTER vs Balor early last year. Unfortunately, the pandemic became even more unpredictable, preventing UK and US talent from mixing.
Cesaro won’t be facing WALTER anytime soon, as his sights are set on Roman Reigns. He challenges for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash next Sunday.
It is interesting that WALTER mentioned Daniel Bryan, seeing as Bryan’s WWE contract recently expired. A recent report stated that WWE are still hopeful that the Leader of the Yes Movement will re-sign with the company.
