Wardlow Compares Dynamic With MJF To Legendary Tag Team AEW

AEW star Wardlow has compared his dynamic with MJF to a legendary WWE tag team.

Wardlow debuted in All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and quickly aligned himself with Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The two remained associated for over two years after this.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the current TNT Champion appeared as a special guest to talk with Matt Hardy.

After bringing up that teaming with The Hardys in a trios match is a dream of his, Wardlow discussed the unique dynamic between Matt and Jeff. He also compared it to his with MJF.

He stated:

“I relate that to myself and Max [Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF]. MJF has such a mind, he’s so creative, and I admittedly don’t have a mind like Matt and Max, they’re geniuses, true geniuses when it comes to this business. I’m more of a Jeff, where I’m this cool dude where it’s like, ‘You need me to go out and powerbomb somebody 10 times? Cool. Just tell me what I need to do and I’ll go out and make it work.’

The AEW star continued on to add how important being different is to a partnership, saying:

“I think it’s important to have a yin and yang, because as much as I hate Max, he’s a genius, and in our roles, he created all these things and I just played this part, which was being myself so it worked, but it’s wild to see some guys have the mind for it, some guys have the physical part for it, some guys are lucky and have both, and I think that’s where Matt’s been so successful. I wish I could tap into my creative side like that.”

Wardlow defeated MJF at Double Or Nothing 2022 to earn his freedom from his employment. He went on to defeat Scorpio Sky to win the AEW TNT Championship in July.
