Watch: Matt Hardy Suffers Deep Cut After Getting Busted Open On AEW: Dynamite

Matt Hardy cut a promo on AEW: Dynamite. During the promo, Hardy announced he was done with the Hardy Multiverse of characters and would be focused on just being Matthew Hardy.

Hardy said he’s stronger than death and will never die. It’s a good thing he won’t die because he took a massive chair shot to the head just a few minutes later.

Sammy Guevara was hiding under the ring and came out to attack Hardy. Hardy was prepared, but the two would brawl to the outside. Eventually, Sammy got the upper hand.

He put Hardy on a table and then flung a chair at him. One of the legs caught Hardy in the head and busted him open the hard way. The announcers caught if from their vantage point and pointed it out. Sammy would go onto hit a big somersault dive from the stage through Hardy and the table.

When Hardy came up, he was bleedy profusely. Later, AEW would release a social media exclusive video showing Hardy getting treatment and the cut was nasty looking.

Hardy said he was hurting and was concussed. He said he was going to get back at Sammy and make him bleed. While the blood was unintentional, it certainly added to the intensity of this feud. Hopefully, Hardy is fine and won’t have any long term effects.

Hardy and Sammy are building to a big match sometime in the near future.
