WWE Star’s Return From Injury Seemingly Postponed WWE

A WWE star’s return from injury may have been temporarily postponed according to a card update for an upcoming show.

With news that this evening’s episode of WWE NXT would feature two qualifying matches for the NXT Women’s Championship ladder match that is set to take place at Stand and Deliver, one of the names has now changed.

Originally announced as Wendy Choo vs Lyra Valkyria, Choo’s name is now absent from the official WWE announcement which has been updated.

As per the WWE website (which still has Wendy Choo in the URL):

“Another spot in the NXT Women’s Championship Ladder Match at NXT Stand & Deliver is up for grabs as Lyra Valkyria takes on Ivy Nile.”

Wendy Choo was written off NXT television in a parking lot attack during the March 1, 2023 episode.

At the time, it was reported that Choo would be out of action with a legitimate injury.

The nature of the injury was not known however it was stated that it was not “too serious” with Choo expected to miss “some time.”

The other qualifying match tonight will be Tiffany Stratton vs Indi Hartwell, with Zoey Stark and Gigi Dolin having already qualified last week.

Dave Meltzer reported earlier that current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, whose status was up in the air, has been cleared for a return.

Also set for tonight’s NXT are Ilja Dragunov vs JD McDonagh, as well as a ‘Great Debate’ between Chase U and Schism.
